Last September, we were honored to collaborate with Sarah Britton, the holistic chef and founder of My New Roots, and Mikkala Marilyn Kissi, founder of Living Yolates, to create a magical week of self-discovery. Nourishing meals, inspiring cooking classes and nutrition workshops combined with intelligent movement sessions, all took place in the setting of a gorgeous finca, nestled in the hills of the Saint Augustin valley on Ibiza. It was a week in paradise, truly.
Sarah is well known for her food blog, read by half a million readers globally. As a holistic nutritionist, a certified nutritional practitioner, a yogini, and an all around shining Goddess, Sarah knows how to inspire us to be our best selves, through delicious, exciting and healthy food. Plus, she knows how to have fun - a blast was had with some of these nourishing workshops: Rawsome Recipes, Healthy Indulgences, Tonic Party, Detox Rocks, Food Facial, Sprout it Out!
In Sarah's own words: "Health is the natural consequence of using whole foods, organic ingredients, and conscious cooking techniques. What you eat becomes something to celebrate, instead of something to scrutinize."
Mikkala's twice daily movement classes combining yoga, pilates and dance beautifully complemented Sarah's delicacies. Free flowing, fluid movements, beautiful music, in a stunning shala surrounded by nature, provided a daily opportunity for all of us to connect and rediscover the joy of being in our bodies.
Each day was so lovingly curated by Sarah and Mikkala to support a different facet of this journey, teaching us to consider the transformative potential of self-love. Everyone who came, left that week radiating and alive, refreshed and renewed.
In the words of one of the retreaters:
"I loved the cooking classes outside, but the Yolates part was a great discovery for me! And the (raw food) facial was amazing, too. The ending ceremony was magical and I love wearing my (gift) bracelet that keeps me reminded of this adventure!"
